The roots of the Bayazıtoğlu brand stem from the epic journey of the Turks from Central Asia to Eastern Bayazıt. Al’i İskender Bey, as the leader of a prominent tribe descending from the Turkish Oghuz Tribes, made significant contributions to the prosperity of the region. In 1514, he made his mark in history by supporting Yavuz Sultan Selim’s Çaldıran campaign.
Al’i İskender Bey’s leadership skills caught the attention of Yavuz Sultan Selim, leading to an invitation to the Sultan’s headquarters tent. This special favor culminated in Al’i İskender Bey being rewarded with vast lands in the plains of Maraş, Göksun, Andırın, and Pazarcık. The Sultan’s generous gesture was further solidified by bestowing upon him the highest military rank of the region, Çavuşbaşı, and facilitating his settlement in the Maraş region.
Over time, the descendants of Al’i İskender Bey, the Bayazıtoğulları, took on significant roles in ensuring the peace and security of the region. They have been part of important historical turning points, striving for the welfare of society.
During the War of Independence, the efforts of the Bayazıtoğulları contributed to the liberation of Kahramanmaraş. These efforts helped spread the name of the Bayazıtlı family to a wider audience. The Bayazıtoğulları played a major role not only in leadership but also in trade and the development of the region, establishing foundations and mosques that contributed to both the material and spiritual growth of the area.
The works such as İskender Bey Oğlu Hacı Abdullah Bey Foundations, Bayezid Mosque, Bayazıtoğlu Kalender Paşa and Ahmed Paşa Foundations, İskender Bey (Acemli) Mosque, and Salihiye Mosque are lasting marks of this family’s contributions to society.
During the Republic era, the Bayazıtoğulları family, who migrated to various cities in Turkey, adopted different surnames following the Surname Law. Our family, which settled in Kayseri, took the surname Özcan and continued to serve in the fields of commerce, academia, and public administration. They have made significant contributions to every sector of society, holding positions such as Pasha, Marshal, Minister of Health, Member of Parliament, Prosecutor, Governor, professor, doctor, engineer, and lawyer.
Today, our company continues its journey with the Bayazıtoğlu brand, aiming to preserve the name Bayazıtoğlu and carry this profound legacy into the future. This strong heritage from the past is our source of inspiration and guidance. It forms the foundation of the values that we will pass on to future generations.
